Hard
Wines with abrasive, astringent tannins or high acidity are said to be hard.

Harsh
If a wine is to hard it is said to be harsh. Harshness is a flaw.

Hearty
Most often applied in description of full, warm qualities found in red wines with high alcohol.

Hollow
Also known as shallow, hollow wines are diluted and lack depth and concentration.

Hot
This denotes that the wine is too high in alcohol and therefor leaves a burning sensation in the back of the throat when swallowed.

Hybrid
Variety bred from members of different species
